That’s because over half of English words are from Latin or French. Since most Spanish words are of Latin origin, too, this means that there is a high degree of lexical similarity in comparison to other languages.That said, you still have to put the work in. You can’t just say that because half your vocabulary shares the same roots that you’re already 50% fluent in Spanish.
